Mission
Neuwaldegg Institute is a non-profit,
non-denominational academic
institution headquartered
in Castle Neuwaldegg in Vienna,
Austria. The mission of the
Neuwaldegg Institute is to
promote freedom through education
in Central and Eastern Europe.
It is a centre for international conferences, lectures and courses. Here, students, academics and professionals gather for intensive work on theoretical and practical topics relevant to the development of free, just, ethical and democratic societies in Central and Eastern Europe. Located in Vienna, Austria, it serves as a tradition bridge for educational, and cultural initiatives between east and west.
The Neuwaldegg Institute's
conferences typically address
issues pertaining to politics,
ethics, law, history and culture.
Questions examined include the
role of the state in a free
society, the rights and responsibilities
of individual citizens, the
foundations and functions of
law, the relationships between
freedom, morality and economic
prosperity, contemporary questions
of ethics, as well as regional
issues tied to history and culture.
Participants at our gatherings
come from over 28 nations
in Central and Eastern Europe,
while our faculty are invited
from across Western Europe,
USA and Central and Eastern
Europe. In this way a forum
is created for a dialogue among
the peoples of Central and Eastern
Europe and for strengthening
of ties between East and West.
